Florida rankings
Sunday, July 13th, 2008For children’s quality of health care Commonwealth Fund ranked florida second to last 50 on the list based on 5 performance dimensions: access to care, quality, costs ,potential to lead healthy lives and equity. The last component measured acess to care in relation to income, race-ethnicity and insurance coverage.
With federal and state programs why is there a low rating for Florida. The answer is how the plan is administrated. To increase the level of care plans in all states should adapt a universal plan .
.This would reduce variations in health care among states and provide coverage aimed at increasing the use of medical homes.
A medical home provides not just primary care and can coordinated care accessible 24 hours per day and not just a answering service
Insurers might improve health care using their own record keeping systems to facilitate immunizations and other preventive care
Write to you state representatives and senators and ask for universal coverage bill for children.
