Health insurance for persons under age 65

Individual health plans. Available directly from Insurance companys Associations and Unions. Plans have deductibles and co insurance provisions. Major Medical plans have high caps usually million or more and are designed for major health situtations. Plans that offer other benefits like copays and prescription drugs cost more.

Health Savings. Plans .They are High deductible plans for self employed individuals and familys that are fully tax deductible on a 1040 tax form. Included are savings accounts to pay for small medical expenses. The after tax cost makes them truly affordable.

Group health plans. Employer sponserd plans offered as a incentive to work are highly regulated. These plans offering first dollar benefits office visit copays and prescription drug benefits. Due to high cost of these plans they are not usually offered by small business. Two persons can be considered a group. Group plans are fully tax deductible to the employer. Employers must be aware of cobra and hippa regulations They have steep federal fines for violations which could impact any business.

Temporay Health Insurance. Plans between group or issuing dates for individual plans. Use full for students and individuals that do not want to pay cobra rates from group plans. Plans have limited questions and are available immediately. Deductible range from 500 to 5,000 for major medical coverage.
